I promised you yesterday that I’ll post my favorite cinabbon recipe. Is the closest version of the Cinnabon® . I have the recipe from Gabi Cara, to whom I thank once again. For the Romanian version go to http://gabrielacara.blogspot.com/.

Before I write the recipe I would like to ask for your opinion about the featured publisher program on foodbuzz. I’d like to apply but in the same time the thought of having to sigh a contract doesn’t quite put a smile on my face. I’ll totally understand if you don’t want to talk about it.

Back to cinnabons

Ingredients

2  1/2 tsp dry yeast

1 cup warm milk

1/2 cup sugar

6 tbsp soften butter

1 tsp salt

2 eggs

4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

for the filling you need

1 cup dark brown sugar

2 1/2 tbsp cinnamon

6 tbsp soften butter

Directions

Mix the sugar and yeast with a little milk. Leave aside for 5 minutes.

Make a well in the middle of the sifted flour, add the salt, eggs and yeast mixture.

Start mixing slowly adding the melted butter.

then the milk

Place the dough into a greased bowl and leave to raise until double in volume.

Place the dough on your working surface and with a rolling-pin roll it out into a rectangular with a thickness around 1/2 inch.

Mix the brown sugar with the cinnamon.

Brush the dough with soften butter and sprinkle with sugar-cinnamon mixture.

Roll it carefully.

With a piece of thread cut the buns around 1 inch thick.

The bons will be clean and round

Place them on baking trays and leave around 20 more minutes at room temperature.

Bake them at 400 F for about 10-15 minutes.

While the cinnabons are in the over make the topping.  We like ours with cream cheese frosting.

you need

4 oz cream cheese

4 oz butter

2 cups powdered sugar

Mix them until light and fluffy.

Top the cinnabons with the frosting while still warm or hot. Sprinkle with walnuts.

closer

even closer :)))

  1. Yum…I can almost smell the cinnamon through my computer screen. Lovely!! Nicely done…

  2. So I made a cinnamon roll dessert last weekend and I think the main difference was the you brushed the dough with softened butter when mine was melted. Something tells me that your approach is a better way to go! 😀

  9. Isabelle Says:

Hurray! A Cinnabon copycat recipe that doesn’t use instant vanilla pudding mix! I’ve been looking for one for ages.
I’ve been craving ooey, gooey cinnamon buns for a while, too, so the timing couldn’t be better. I know what I’m making tomorrow. 🙂

  10. Monet Says:

I just made cinnamon rolls the other day…is there anything better? Thank you for sharing…I’m sorry I’ve been a bit absent these last few days…we are just dealing with so much with baby Ryan. Have a beautiful weekend!

  11. Tena Says:

    love it!

  12. I LOVE LOVE all your photos. There’s something reassuring about knowing what something *should* look like. My weakness is cinnamon rolls (particularly Cinnabon Rolls.) Now flowers, for heavens sake not jewelry and not anything I need to maintain or feed. Cinnamon rolls. A bouquet of these and I’m a happy girl. Now if you’ll excuse me I’m going to send this post to my other half…birthday comin’ up.

  13. favourite love using milk in the dough delicious pictures

  14. Coffeebeans Says:

    Hello,

I love your cinnabon rolls. 🙂
I would like to see you as featured publisher on Foodbuzz but if you think that you wouldn’t like to much to be one, don’t do it.

  15. nesrine Says:

  18. These cinnabons are so amazing, and mouthwatering. Love your step-by-step instruction with the photos too.

Re: the foodbuzz publisher..I am a foodbuzz publisher, did sign printed out contract, and faxed it back. No restrictions, obligations to buy, or join…the good part about it is they contact you when there is another event to show off you cooking talent, to win a nice $$$. Also, you could join the foodbuzz festival and not pay the admission prize. Not a bad deal, and you get a lot of advantages that you might want to be a part of. That’s all…it’s all good!

  19. Janice Says:

Not close enough- not until they are on MY plate.

  20. They look so good and moist! I like the string slicing technique!

Your cinnabons look near perfect! I was traveling all day yesterday and there were cinnabon shops all through the airport it was torture!

  24. Fallon Says:

Those look amazing! I’m seeing cinnamon buns everywhere, very tempting. I must go check out the Romanian version because I’m part Romanian!

I’m thinking about join the Publisher program as well. Sounds like a good deal. I just think you need to have the free-time to do the the events that show up and that is something I might struggle with. You should do it if you know you can stay dedicated!

  25. Shirley Says:

I LOVE cinnamon buns! I like your thread technique — I might try that next time instead of using a knife.
Re: your question about Foodbuzz publishers program, I ultimately decided not to sign up for it. It seems like it has a lot of benefits, but like you I disliked the idea of a contract or ads taking over my blog. I might change my mind in the future.

  26. This is not good to look at right before bed because I would love one right mow. Or maybe two!:) great photos!

  27. These look heavenly! I always splurge on a Cinnabon in the airport because it eases the pains of traveling and time changes 🙂 But to be able to make them at home? Dangerous! 🙂

  28. SO nice when you can make these from scratch at home! I bet your kitchen smelled wonderful!

  29. This looks like the perfect Thanksgiving morning treat!

  30. Wow–they look devilishly good!

  31. briarrose Says:

Looks amazing. I have a serious weakness for cinnabons.

  32. Cutting the buns with a thread is a brilliant idea. I should’ve done that next time. Your looks cinnabon-like if not better! soooo good!

  33. Dimah Says:

I am not sure how foodbuzz’a featured program will benefit those who do not live in the US. I would have loved to have gone to the foodbuzz fest, though 😀 I havent entered anything because I have so much on my plate already. Will once everything is settled and organized.

  46. Cinnamon rolls are my favorite sweet thing to eat, EVER! and these look just perfect 🙂
